Editing and Cover Design in Progress

PictureOne of my favorite thinking places: the top of Aslan's Bluffs along the treasure trail.
I've heard from Tate Publishing and the next steps are in progress. First is the editing of the body of the novel, and secondly is the cover process. It's very exciting and a little intimidating, but forward we march!

I have wonderful family and friends who are helping me with the editing, and I'm so grateful to them for all they're doing, and have already done. Thanks!

I believe the name of the novel will be DAN. Sheriff Dan Halloran is the main character and the story is woven around his struggle to overcome the past so that he can move on with his future, in both his professional as well as private life. Sorrow, anger, joy, and love await Sheriff Dan, and I hope you will enjoy the journey with him.

DAN will be the first novel in the Hilldale series. I felt emotionally connected to the title A CHILD SHALL LEAD THEM, but found I couldn't connect it with images that where in line with the story. When DAN was suggested, I immediately saw the images on the front cover, and it opened up titles for the second and third books in the series.
The second one, now about half complete, features Gordie, the teenager Sheriff Dan rescues in the first book. There's so much more to publishing a book than I ever realized, and the professional staff at Tate Publishing have been patient with my questions, allowing my input at every step. So far, it's been a great experience.

I will be back with more information and share my publishing experience with you as it happens. Stay posted! In the meantime, enjoy adding a chapter to Silverius' story on the interactive writing page. Hope to see  you along the trail!
